Small Group Sessions

service #2

At Ella's Study Spot, my small group sessions are designed with a maximum of four children, ensuring that learning remains personalised and tailored to each child’s individual needs. With my experience as a former KS2 specialist teacher, I’m able to provide the same high level of 1:1 support you'd expect from private tutoring, while fostering an interactive and engaging environment where children can bounce ideas off each other, build confidence, and thrive in a less pressured setting that optimises learning.

My groups are carefully selected based on year group and current ability levels, ensuring each child receives the appropriate level of support and challenge. While many of my students are preparing for the 11+ exam, I also work with children who need to build confidence, fill learning gaps, and enjoy their lessons in a fun, supportive environment.

I also make it a point to discover shared interests among the children and ask them about their current passions to help me plan and resource my lessons.
This approach ensures that the learning is created to engage and inspire the children, making new learning enjoyable.

INSPIRING, SUPPORTIVE & ENJOYABLE

What truly sets my small group sessions apart is the balance between individual attention and the benefits of group learning. Children love the healthy competition, teamwork, and collaboration, which not only makes learning more enjoyable but also boosts motivation. For those working towards the 11+, being part of a group with peers of similar ability drives them to improve and achieve their goals together.

Having taught classes of 32 children without additional support, I understand the value of focused, nurturing environments. In these small groups, I can give each child the time and attention they need, offering individualised guidance that isn’t always possible in school.

From team games and treasure hunts to Maths competitions and group storytelling, the children work together, challenge each other, and build lasting friendships.

"He’s so happy he hasn’t stopped smiling since he came home and he’s already looking forward to next week’s session so all I can say is a huge thank you!"

"Hi Ella, oh my goodness she absolutely loved the first session and actually said as we were leaving that she wanted to stay!!"

"Thank you so much for your email, such great feedback. I am so glad we found you."

"He couldn’t wait to start his homework- which is a first!!"

"Thank you for your session today, she was so happy when she came out she said she loved it, bless her. She’s never normally excited about education so it’s so good to hear her speak like this!"
