I make learning fun, practical, and engaging by connecting lessons to your child's unique interests and needs, ensuring a customised experience that inspires growth.
I create a safe, happy space where your child feels understood and comfortable, empowering them to make mistakes and grow with confidence.
In a world moving online, I value authentic, face-to-face teaching that inspires, supports, and challenges your child appropriately. Learning takes place in SM5.
After years in the classroom, I saw firsthand how challenging it was to meet every child's individual needs. That's why I created Ella's Study Spot—to provide personalised support that helps each child thrive. Whether it's building confidence, filling learning gaps, or preparing for the 11+, I’m here to help.
I offer small group evening sessions for Year 3 to Year 6 students, as well as daytime sessions for home-educated learners across KS1 and KS2. Every session is designed to be interactive, supportive, and tailored to your child's needs.
Leaving classroom teaching was a big leap, but I'm thrilled to be doing what I love most—helping young learners succeed. Thank you for visiting my website, and I look forward to supporting your child on their learning journey!
I regularly assess your child's progress, maintain communication through weekly parent emails and adjust the plan to ensure ongoing improvement is achieved.
Join one of my small groups consisting of maximum 4 children. I deliver expert, personalised small group sessions tailored to the students' individual needs.
Book through the website and I will be in touch to organise a day where I can come visit you and your child. I complete some light assessments and we discuss goals for the future.
With a proven track record of successfully tutoring for local grammar schools like Wilson's, Nonsuch, Wallington County, and Sutton Grammar, my sessions focus on key exam areas: creative writing, Maths reasoning, grammar, spelling, and reading comprehension.
Using high-quality resources, I conduct termly mocks to track progress, filling learning gaps and using the papers to plan future lessons accordingly. The aim is to teach Year 6/7 objectives that will not be covered in school in time, ensuring that by the time of the September exams, your child will not be going in blind and are fully prepared.
As part of a team that helps moderate local grammar papers, I have insider knowledge of the exact level required, frequently tested content, and expert tips!
Hello, I am a student in Year 5. Ella has been helping me for the past 5 months with Maths and English so I can get into the secondary school I want. Ella is the best tutor you will ever find!! She helps me learn but in a fun way! My favourite is the quizzes she makes for me. I am sad that I won't see Ella anymore but I feel lucky to have met her. I can finally say I can tell the time! Woohooo! Thank you!!!!!!
Absolutely delighted with the tutor we've chosen for my daughter's 11+ exam preparation! She has connected wonderfully with her tutor, who has proven to be not only knowledgeable but also incredibly supportive. I highly recommend her to any parent looking for effective and engaging tutoring for their child. Truly a great match for us!
Super happy! I am very very happy with the support you have given my daughter. She looks forward to your session every week. I will be recommending. Thank you.
I was lucky enough to work with Ella at her previous school. She was a highly valued member of the team with an exceptional track record in driving attainment. All of the children loved having her as a teacher due to her positivity and kindness. She will make an excellent tutor!
Although I have not worked with Ella as a tutor, I have worked with her in a nursery. The children loved her when she used to do circle time as our preschool teacher! Children and parents love her and I think she's brilliant x You'd be lucky to have her for your little ones x Susie xx
Ella has been great for our girl Evie. She was her teacher for part of this year and I could not wish for a more supportive teacher for my girl. We will definitely be getting in touch for tutoring sessions now she has stepped away from classroom teaching. Definitely recommend, good luck to you - Evie's mum
I just cannot thank you enough. It was so hard to find a tutor that wasn’t just trying to replicate school and that actually wanted to build confidence through practical and engaging sessions. You were exactly what we were looking for and I feel so grateful to you as it really shows how much you put into each session. She loves you and so do we! Thank you thank you thank you!
Hello Ella. It is so refreshing seeing him enjoying learning again. On our way home he said he had a confession, his confession was that although we had done fractions together before and at school he said it was the first time he truly understood how to do fractions of amounts. He did half his homework yesterday and he said he was looking forward to doing the rest today- it doesn’t get better than that. Thank you again for an amazing session.
She really does love your sessions. So many of her friends had tutors but it gave her the impression it would be boring so wasn’t interested. Honestly when I saw your approach I just knew you’d be a great fit for her. And no matter what high school she goes to, she will be so well equipped and so much of that will be down to you!
He absolutely loved yesterday’s session and came home explaining to me what he had learnt and how he could use similes, metaphors and personification. In the 6 years of school, I hardly remember him telling me how his lessons went with so much enthusiasm. Thank you so much for the support you are giving him.
